Long Term Care Nurse Expert

Heather is a highly motivated nursing leader of 31 years who has a diverse leadership background within the Ontario health care system with a focus on Long-Term Care, Retirement and Seniors Care. As a former inspector with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Division Manager, and her Certificate in Health Law from Osgoode Hall School of York University, she has vast knowledge in government legislation and quality risk management strategies. Currently as the Quality, Risk, Patient Experience and Emergency Preparedness manager within the Acute Care sector, Heather is a key liaison with insurance adjusters and the hospital representative for Examination Discoveries. In this role she is responsible for the management of potential and actual legal claims and works in collaboration with hospital legal counsel. Additionally, Heather received an A.C.E Award for the Long-Term Care Home Quality Inspection Program and recently received a Certificate in Negligence & Claims Management in Healthcare and a Certificate in Health Law from Osgoode Hall, School of York University and a LTC Board Governance and Leadership Certification.
