Obstetrical Nurse Expert
Rachelle is a Registered Nurse with 15 years experience working the entirety of her career in Obstetrics (including antenatal, triage and labour & delivery). She currently works in a high-volume hospital in Edmonton, Alberta and has held both staff and charge nurse roles and currently is an Assistant Head Nurse. Rachelle’s primary role at present is to be in charge of the unit facilitating nurses and physicians while monitoring and overseeing all patients, fetal monitor tracings and flow & safety of the unit. Rachelle obtained the Canadian Nursing Association Perinatal Certification (PCN(C)) in 2011 and has been a Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Instructor since 2012. Working to help improve obstetrical care, Rachelle has also participated in her hospital’s MOREOB program and currently sits on multiple committees including Women’s Quality Health, Obstetrical Triage, Induction of Labour and Perinatal Bereavement. Rachelle also worked extensively with management and educators to help role out the new EMR program EPIC in 2023. She has also participated with the National State Boards of Nursing reviewing and writing NCLEX (national nursing exam) questions. When not at work you can find Rachelle volunteering with a local pet rescue or the local food bank.
