Vanessa has dedicated her entire nursing career to Community Health Nursing, with registrations in both Newfoundland and Ontario. Her focus is on quality care standards, team development and program support, and she has spent over 25 years working both private and public sector positions in Homecare, Public Health, Community Support and Home Health Nursing. Vanessa has demonstrated strong leadership in various clinical, administrative, education and management roles. She has completed the CNA certification for Community Health Nursing and is actively involved in the certification process as a member of the competency review and exam development teams, as well as serving as a mentor and coach for community health nurses across Canada.  Vanessa is currently on the Board of Directors for the Community Health Nurses of Canada and is employed as a Regional Homecare Nurse Supervisor and Team Lead in Newfoundland and Labrador.
